GrooveMail Form & GroovePages Landing Page Video Tutorial
I highly recommend you watch my video tutorial below as it walks you through step-by-step on how to setup a list and form in GrooveMail.
This article outlines only the basic steps, the video below covers everything in detail:
Have You Added Your Sender Email Yet?
Before we begin, I’m assuming you have added your “Sender Email” in GrooveMail.
You’ll need that in place first before you can create GrooveMail forms.
If you haven’t, head to my GrooveMail tutorial 2022 playlist and watch the very first video.
Step 1: Create a List
Once you’ve logged into the GrooveMail interface, the first step is creating a list.
- Click on Lists
- Click “New List”
- Give your list a name > Click on “Create List”
Step 2: Create Tag Category & Tag
Once you’ve created your list, the next step is creating a tag category and tag.
Once you’ve logged into the GrooveMail interface, the first step is creating a list.
- Click on Tag
- Click “New Tag”
- Give your tag a name
- Give your tag a description
- Select a Tag category to file your tag
- Click “Create Tag”
Step 3: Create a Form
Now that you’ve create a list and tag, it’s time to create the form and configure your form settings.
- Click on Form
- Click “New Form”
- Give your form a name, click “Save & Continue”
There are three components in configuring your form.
Build Form
- Select the input fields
- In this example, I’ve left first name and email fields.
- If you like to add new custom fields in your form, click on the “+” button.
To change your call to action label on your button, simply click on it and type your preferred text.
Once you’re done, click on “Next”.
Form Setup
The form setup will take the longest as it requires you to configure your form settings.
Subscriber List:
- Select the list you want to assign you contacts to once they opted into your form
- In this example, I created a list called “Sales Funnel Workbook” and will select that list
Assign Tags:
- Always assign a tag to your form
- In this example, I created a tag called “Sales Funnel Workbook” and will select that tag
Sequences:
- You can subscribe someone to a email sequence also known as an autoresponder series the moment they opt in to your form
- But I’m going to skip this for now because the next video will be on creating an email sequence
Opt-in Settings
- You can choose to have a single optin whereby a contact doesn’t need to confirm their email address
- I prefer to setup a double opt-in where the user needs to click on a confirmation link to receive their freebie and future emails
You can set a double opt-in by creating a email and leaving the “confirmation link” variable in place.
The email builder right now is quite basic however their will be a new email builder coming soon that will allow you to create beautiful looking emails.
- Add your email copy
- Personalise it with the name variable {first_name}
- Change the font size if you like
- Add an image by clicking on the photo icon
- Leave this {optin_confirmation_link} variable in place
- Hyperlink text by clicking on the link icon
Confirmation page URL:
Is the URL people will be redirected to once they click on this confirmation link.
Enter the appropriate URL here and watch the video tutorial for more details on this.
Success page URL:
Is the URL that users will be redirected to after they click on the submit button.
This is usually your thank-you page URL.
Welcome Email / SMS Settings:
I prefer to skip the welcome email because you can tie it together in your email sequence.
You will see this note: this message may be delivered at the same time as a sequence email if you are also adding this contact to a sequence.
This will only duplicate up emails so I suggest you add your welcome email as part of a email sequence.
Forward Responses:
if you want to notify someone else when a person opts in to your form, you can select the recipients here.
Embed
You will be given an embed form.
Use this code to embed your GrooveMail form on your blog or any webpage online if you’re not using GroovePages.
Step 4: Add Your GrooveMail Form On GroovePages
Head to your GroovePages landing page.
Drag in the “GrooveMail form” element.
Click on the element, over on the right, click on the “Configure” tab.
Configure your form by selecting the:
- GrooveMail form you setup
- Set the page or URL for the thankyou redirect
- Click on update
To stylize and format your form on GroovePages, watch the video at the 8 minute mark.
